Adopt An Event

Since 2003, ClearStream customers have been developing a system for On-The-Go recycling that is efficient and cost effective.  Today, thousands of customers doing tens of thousands of events are creating dynamic public/private recycling partnerships using the Adopt-An-Event™ recycling model.

What is Adopt-An-Event™?

Like the original Adopt-A-Highway programs, Adopt-An-Event creates dynamic public/private recycling partnerships.  Public agencies like cities and counties purchase ClearStreams and put them in a bin bank/tool shed so organizations can check them out.  Private organizations Adopt-An-Event by borrowing ClearStream recycling containers from public agencies like cities and counties for use at their own events.  The Result is sustainable On-The-Go recycling with minimal investment by either partner.

Public Agencies

Why Should Public Agencies Invest in the Adopt-An-Event™ Recycling Program?

ClearStream achieves consistent success. Using volunteer labor instead of public employees, staff time dramatically reduces operation costs. "Local" ownership of the event provides greater participation, and as a result, recycled events are also cleaner events reducing litter clean up costs.

Creating A "Library" of ClearStreams

The Public Sector's role is typically purchase, storage and loaning out of the ClearStreams.  ClearStream containers can be provided by almost any organization public or private for a sustainable On-The-Go recycling system.

Every community event or permanent venue is an opportunity to pass on a green legacy of sustainable recycling. When attendees see clean recyclables and trash being kept off the ground, they are reminded “this is a great community.” Adopt-An-Event creates a positive, rising tide of public approval.

The Adopt-An-Event™ Formula for Public Agencies.
  1. Stock the community "tool shed" with mobile ClearStream Containers ( a one time shared investment)
  2. Lend them to groups to recycle at their events
  3. Your visitors take pride in recycling for cleaner events.
Benefits
  • Reduces cost using volunteer labor instead of public employees.
  • Recycled events are cleaner events, which in turn reduces litter clean up costs.
  • Volunteers ages 8-80 can service the recycling containers safely without special equipment
Next Step:  Creating your own "Library" of ClearStreams

You can order a case of ClearStreams for $250 (sign kit additional) or simply put out a notice to local organizations that you would like to do a pilot project.  These programs have grown to become the major source of recycling in 100's of communities

Private Organizations

Why Should Private Organizations Volunteer to Adopt recycling at Events?

Ten's of thousand's of events are adopted every year by volunteer groups borrowing ClearStream recycling containers. Borrowing ClearStream containers eliminates the need to purchase or store them.
